The recent story of The Rosebuds is more interesting than their recent music: After more than a few years as a married couple fronting a band, Ivan Howard and Kelly Crisp got a divorce, but still decided to keep making music together, releasing Loud Planes Fly Low. It's like watching the White Stripes' divorce saga play out in real time, as opposed to finding out about it after three albums.
But that's not to say the band's new single, "Woods," and video isn't pretty great: It's a plinking, catchy ditty that has a beautifully rendered ocean-heavy music video. It turns out watching someone surf is a perfect accompaniment for the Rosebuds' piano attack.
