The Roots performed the title track for their upcoming album, How I Got Over, on their new boss Jimmy Fallon's show in June, but today comes the official version that will appear on the album. The song is considerably more optimistic and happy than the music that was found on their last two full-lengths (Game Theory and Rising Down), which in comparison probably isn't too hard since both of those albums were as dark as they come. Then again, the song is entirely about how hard it is to grow up on the streets. How much of How I Got Over is going to be this soulful isn't clear, but that question will be answered when the album comes out on Sept. 29.
