The Roots

"How I Got Over" (Live on Fallon) (Video)

It’s amazing that The Roots even have time to write new material considering their residency on Jimmy Fallon’s talk show. But the band members have been busy of late, with an appearance at their annual festival in Philadelphia supplemented by a number of summer tour dates, which have been squeezed into their schedule.

The Roots used their Fallon residency to promote a new song last night (June 24), which is called “How I Got Over” and is taken from an album of the same name. The band members claim the album is filled with a sense of optimism they felt at the end of the Bush regime, and this track certainly embodies a huge surge of good feeling.

Yeah, real positive. I like the angry, negative Roots that are on albums like Rising Down and Game Theory, but this great.
