The Pretenders’ new album,
Break Up the Concrete, came out yesterday, and it's supposed to be a late-period return-to-form for Chrissie Hynde and company. I can't verify that since I haven’t heard anything other than the mid-‘60s, Dylan-sounding lead single, “Boots of Chinese Plastic,” which the band performed on Letterman on Monday night. This new version of
The Pretenders (the line-up changes for every album) is pretty tight—they rip through the track at full bore with maximum impact. [
