Given the band's ludicrous size, it's pretty surprising how quiet The Polyphonic Spree has been the past few years. But they've been taking the whole circus on the road recently, and the group stopped by the AV Club's studios in Chicago to take part in their online video covers series, AV Undercover. The Spree is nearly synonymous with bright-eyed euphoria, so it's a bit surprising that they would choose to cover Neil Young's 1972 autumnal hit "Heart Of Gold." Yet the band--uncomfortingly crammed into the tiny studio--turns the heartsick ballad into a triumphant explosion. Check it out below.
