The Pains of Being Pure at Heart: "Young Adult Friction" (Video)

Brooklyn’s The Pains of Being Pure at Heart continue in their quest to effortlessly replicate the efforts of English indie-pop bands with this video for “Young Adult Friction.” Shot in a grainy Super-8 style, this clip is reminiscent of glorious but barely remembered artists such as the Flatmates, the Primitives and the Close Lobsters.

With an endless touring schedule and innumerable critical plaudits for their debut album, this is undoubtedly the year of the Pains of Being Pure at Heart, although that band name doesn’t get any easier to swallow. The group members appear to be reading some of their favorite books as this video unfolds, including Emile Durkheim’s Suicide and Beverly Clearly’s Fifteen. [via DiscoAttack]
