The National played a live session for QTV in Toronto last night, busting out a bunch of the material from High Violet with special guest (more on that later today), and also trotting out some beautiful new material. The first new track they performed is called "Rylan," and it has a refrain that goes, "Everybody wants to be amazing," and it's very much of a piece with the stuff on High Violet.
The group also played a new song called "I Need My Girl," which is another subdued cut. If you're looking for the next "Bloodbuzz Ohio," move along. But still, good to hear these guys are back to writing new material. [CBC Radio]
