In addition to their album High Violet coming out today, The National also chose this afternoon to premiere the video for the pulsing "Bloodbuzz Ohio."
Directed by Hope Hall, Andreas Burgess, and frontman Matt Berninger's wife Carin Besser, the black-and-white clip features the always dapper Berninger singing the song in a variety of locales. These include a park, a cafe, and for most of the time, somewhere that looks like the abandoned performance area of some old-time talk show. Berninger's constantly wandering gaze and his possibly drunken dancing round out the highlight reel, and make this more than just another guy-staring-at-the-camera video.
Fun fact: The bartender in the video is played by D.A. Pennebaker, the man responsible for the upcoming National concert film.
