The National are still working hard to squeeze a few more sales out of last year’s High Violet album. Here, they perform a version of “Bloodbuzz Ohio” for Morning Becomes Eclectic on KCRW, which was their song of choice for many of the late night TV talk show appearances when that record was first issued. It still sounds wonderfully bittersweet, with Matt Berninger’s vocals sounding damaged and forlorn throughout and the band matching his downbeat tone with some low key strings and brass accompaniment.
