The National: "Afraid of Everyone" f. Sufjan Stevens (Live on Letterman) (Video)

· by

It’s been a busy week for the National—not only was High Violet released, but they’ve appeared on television screens in the U.K. via Later with Jools Holland, and now in the U.S. on David Letterman’s show. Matt Berninger and the Dessner and Devendorf brothers should rack up some serious air miles this year.

“Afraid of Everyone” is a typical slow-burning track from the band, which digs deep into Beringer’s seemingly never ending pit of melancholy. And yes, that is Sufjan Stevens adding backing vocals on the far right of the stage, just as he does on the recorded version of this track.
