The National trotted out a new track in Copenhagen on Tuesday night, “A Thousand Black Cities,” (captured here in shaky YouTube format) the first of their post-Boxer material. The song is pretty somber (like every National song) but the matador (the bullfighter, not the label) horns create an anthemic atmosphere.
The band have a couple of festival dates coming up, but then its presumably time off to get this ditty down onto wax.
