The new Music Tapes single, "For the Planet Pluto" is a love letter to Pluto, aka the planet that is no more, with former Neutral Milk Hotel sideman Julian Koster offering Pluto condolences for its secondary status in our solar system and pushing for infinite planethood. The video finds Pluto getting left out of a breakfast party and feeling bad for himself before going to a former planet support group. Cute stuff. [Pitchfork]
Julian Koster always sides with the kids. I don't understand why Pluto and the metronome get along so well, but this song is as good as anything on Music Tapes for Clouds and Tornadoes.
