The Mountain Goats: "The Diaz Brothers" (Live In Houston) (Video)

The Mountain Goats promised us new material on the band’s current tour, saying that they “got together and decided to tour the new songs before we even record them.” A prior reluctance to debuting songs this way was due to the flood of raw material leaking online, which is exactly what’s happened to the new song “The Diaz Brothers.”

This recording was shot by a fan at Fitzgerald’s in Houston, as part of a tour of the southern states that includes further shows (plus a couple in New York City) that you can see if you skip past the video below. “Be advised that if you’re the sort of person who wants as many surprises as possible when you hear a new album, you should tread lightly around recordings of these shows,” says John Darnielle.
