John Darnielle and his Mountain Goats are the latest band to risk waking the dead by performing on Pitchfork TV's "Cemetery Gates" the number one cemetery-related web performance series. The band plays "Psalms 40:2," which is almost too obviously fitting. Though the track would be just as ripping in a club, I suppose.
The Life of the World to Come is out now.
I used to love this guy's work, but I think I'm growing tired of it. Am I the only one?
I still really like this guy, and the new album. He almost goes a little too crazy in this one, but damned if I don't appreciate the enthusiasm.
