“The Marvelous Dream”

We already heard portions of this track off Damon Albarn’s Dr. Dee album/opera earlier this month. But now “The Marvelous Dream” is being pushed as the project’s lead single, which allows us to hear the full recording. It’s a somber tune from Albarn, whose vocals and acoustic guitar drive the track before the hand claps and back-up singers waltz in at the half-way point.

Then the track just kind of ends abruptly, which makes it feel less like a proper single and more like something we should be hearing in the context of a narrative. You can listen to it below. Dr. Dee drops May 8. [BPM]
