Remember sitting on the couch in the early ‘90s, beer (or in my case, juice box) in hand as you watched Weezer’s “Say It Ain’t So” video on MTV’s 120 Minutes? These United States remember, too, and even though the band formed in 2006, its members are really, really sad they never got anything in rotation on Alternative Nation. So they put on some flannel, shot a “long lost home video” in a garage, inverted the colors in random scenes (à la Bleach), and set it to their track “The Important Thing.” The song’s prominent pedal steel probably wouldn’t fly with the grunge crowd the video’s jokingly marketed towards, but none of that matters because it ends in a pizza party. Cowabunga!
