When he's not drumming in shoegaze-ish indie pop outfit Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Kurt Feldman is leading another '80s-referencing group. He's the frontman of the Ice Choir, a promising Brooklyn-based quartet with a strong love for synthesizers, other electronics, and beat-heavy rhythm sections. At least, that's the case on the band's debut 7" single, Two Rings.
The two-track effort is set to drop Nov. 15 via Shelflife, but we're offering a stream and download of A-side "Two Rings" today. It contains all the aforementioned elements, which serve as the backdrop for Feldman's lovelorn near-falsetto. Go ahead, embrace all the best parts about the '80s and throw a headband on. It's OK. You can stream and download the track below.
