The Hold Steady: "Southwood Plantation Road" (Mountain Goats Cover) (Live Video)

Given how often the Mountain Goats and The Hold Steady are lumped together as the leading lights of bar-band rock, it's almost strange that it has taken this long for a video of one band covering the other to surface. While in Leeds, England, last week, The Hold Steady trotted out a pretty faithful cover of Mountain Goats' "Southwood Plantation Road" (from Tallahassee). The video is pretty dark (I think this was recorded in a neighborhood watering hole), but the audio is pretty great. [Pitchfork]
