The members of The Gossip like to perform “Heavy Cross” from Music for Men whenever they appear on TV, and continued that trend on Jimmy Kimmel’s show last night (Oct. 6). Their sound continues to match elements of disco with post-punk and the diva-like vocals of Beth Ditto.

The singer is in resplendent form on this clip, sporting a shock of red hair and encouraging the audience to clap along. At this point it feels like Ditto is carrying the band, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if she went solo at some stage—although her punk rock roots are likely to keep her tied to the other Gossip members, Brace Paine and Hannah Blilie.
