Beth Ditto brought The Gossip onto Friday Night with Jonathan Ross on Friday to perform "Heavy Cross," the first single from their upcoming major label debut, Music for Men. This single is starting to generate some heat--I heard this on the radio this weekend, which is the first time I've heard a Gossip song not being played from a computer--but this song is kind of a rounding off of the band's edges. Their old punk edge is hardly evident here, and I wonder if that's producer Rick Rubin's doing.
