The Go! Team is one of those bands that seems destined to follow this following pattern:
1. Release an album with some loud, catchy jams. Grab the attention of the music listening community at large.
2. Take a break and fall into obscurity for a while. Get labeled a "buzz band" that couldn't cut it.
3. Release the next album of loud, catchy jams. Grab the attention of the music listening community at large once more.
Next year's Rolling Blackouts is scheduled for a Jan. 31 release date, and It will be the Go! Team'a first album in four years and third album overall. On these lead track, "T.O.R.N.A.D.O.," the routinely happy party sounds of the British sextet have a bit of a darker edge to them. It's still a banging dance track, no doubt, but could this be the band's experimental angry album? We hope not, but for a band that has a trademark formula pretty set in stone, some experimentation will be welcome.
Anyway, The Go! Team is back, and I for one welcome our horn-blasting, rapping overlords. Stream the track over here at You Ain't No Picasso.
