After listening to Seattle’s The Girls’ “Transfer Station,” you’ll swear you just jumped back to 2002, when dance-punk and the newest new-wave were the greatest things since the iPod (5 gigs of storage! That’s enormous! I can fit all my Wilco in here! Even Being There.) That’s not to say that the song is derivative slop worth not even a listen; it’s derivative for sure, but it’s still a quite a blast—tons of synth blasts, quick punk guitars, and yelling about a radio station.
The song is from the band’s upcoming sophomore album, Yes No Yes No Yes No, due out on 9/16 via Dirtnap.

2002 was just so-so for me.
