It might not have broke through to the mainstream like some other albums of its kind, but Leave It All Behind was easily one of the best R&B/soul records of 2008. Hell, it's still better than most projects that have dropped since then. My gripes with modern R&B/soul aside, The Foreign Exchange is back with their first single off their forthcoming third album, Authenticity. And it picks right up where the previous album left off, with Phonte crooning and rapping heartfelt sentiments over electronic-influenced soul. "Maybe She'll Dream of Me" is the kind of track that, if given the right airplay, might result in a few extra pregnancies this fall.
You can hear "Maybe She'll Dream of Me" at the Foreign Exchange website. Authenticity drops Oct. 12.
