The Flaming Lips’ shows from the last few years have been so colorful, so full of confetti and dancers and other paraphernalia, that it seems odd to see them suddenly shorn of all these things. Here, they are caught on video at the KCRW studios, where they perform “I Can Be a Frog” (sans Karen O) from Embryonic.
Karen’s absence matters little to Wayne Coyne, who gets the studio staff to fill in with the assorted noises she provides on the record. Fortunately, a camera crew was there to capture all the silliness for posterity, with Coyne and various people at the station just about stifling their giggles as the track unfolds.
