The Flaming Lips: "Convinced of the Hex" and "Silver Trembling Hands" (News Songs) (Stream)

Covert Curiosity has two new tracks from Flaming Lips' upcoming double album, Embryonic, including "Silver Trembling Hands" and "Convinced of the Hex." "Silver Trembling Hands" is a watery psychedelic jaunt, reminiscent of the mellower moments on Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, while "Convinced of the Hex" is a sparse, clattering affair that is built on a robotic beat that wouldn't be out of place on a Can or Neu! album. Go here to stream the songs.

Embryonic is due out on Sept. 29.

Looking forward very much to this album. A return to anything Yoshimi-like is good news as far as I'm concerned.
