The Fiery Furnaces enjoyed a recent burst of accidental publicity, and are now set to focus on the music again with the release of this video for “Even in the Rain” from their I’m Going Away album. For reasons best known to themselves, the band decided to shoot the video as a mock behind-the-scenes featurette from Easy Rider.

The clip even touches on the fact that Rip Torn was due to play Jack Nicholson’s part, and the band recruited Jamie Oliver to play the part of the man who is perhaps best known as Artie from The Larry Sanders Show. What does all this have to do with “Even in the Rain”? That’s anyone’s guess.
