The Fiery Furnaces' latest album, I'm Going Away, is a return to stripped down roots for the New York duo, and "Charmane Champagne" highlights the set's still-complex but somehow uncluttered feel of the tracks. The song's video is heavy on hand-drawn imagery and stop-motion dancing of the Friedbergers, who look like they're having a blast. It all looks like a segment from the Electric Company, which makes some sense, since the album is allegedly inspired by '70s sitcoms.
I'm Going Away is out now. [Pitchfork]
