After being dropped from Columbia after refusing to do a cover of a Beatles song, Tennessee’s The Features went indie, releasing an EP (Contrast) on their own dime. The band are finally set to release a full-length follow-up to their Columbia debut (2004’s Exhibit A) with Some Kind of Salvation, due out in September on 180 gram vinyl (and download). The band have “GMF” for free download at their website right now. The track is standard Features: a mixing of the psychedelic rock of the ‘60s with power pop’s conventions.
