The Faint

The Geeks Were Right (Video)

Nebraska new-new-wavers The Faint recently went independent-- releasing their new album Fasciination on their own imprint. The band also apparently took up video direction, as the band-helmed, neon nightmare clip for “The Geeks Were Right” is now playing at the band’s website.

The video outshines the mostly hokey song, and the track still sounds like it’s missing something. [Stereogum]

I got a retail copy of the album this week so I can finally listen to it. I had a promo sent, but the watermarked thing wouldn't play on my cd player or computer. It actually wouldn't eject from my computer unless I used the keyboard shortcut.

Yeah Dave, I suffered from the same issue until I dusted off my old portable cd player. A very major label move for a newly DIY band!

Hmm, you seem a lot more lukewarm about the single than this review (http://www.spoonfed.co.uk/spooners/music-team-2636/new-releases-18-aug-411/) and I think I'm somewhere in the middle. It wasn't AMAZING but it was definitely better than most of the electro stuff you hear these days.
