"Rockin That Thang" makes it more obvious than ever that The Dream is a producer first, pop star second; while the second has a pretty great, too much of it is filled with weird vocal silence that would make a better song if it wasn't there. The video is pretty much what you would expect of an excessive contrivance that's a part of an increasingly afrofuturistic R&B: The Dream accompanied by a bunch of video vixens dancing in front of the thing that Catherine Zeta Jones and Renee Zellweger perform in front of in the last scene of Chicago, and some freaky glowing sequence that sorta looks like the part in Coccoon when the aliens start glowing. What do you know, looks like me and video director Ray Kay like the same movies!
