In addition to solidifying his dominance of mainstream R&B production (can this be called R&B, or is it "black pop" or "afro-pop," if such a thing can exist), The Dream is constantly certifying his position as it's primary hopeful romantic, constantly admiring some lady from afar and scheming to move closer. While "Rockin That Shit" has lyrics like "I'm ready to take the milky way to your Hershey's Kiss" and "Bring me your body, I'ma rock it all night," The Dream's huge, warm synth-lines and excellently placed "ooohing" come closer than anything else on the radio to resembling the current of 80's soundtrack happy retro-electro gems that have been the focus of a lot of blogs of late.
The Dream's Love vs. Money is due March 3 from Def Jam.
