The Dodos: "Fables" (Live on Letterman) (Video)

The Dodos made their network television debut on Friday night (Jan. 8) by appearing on David Letterman’s show. The band is still promoting its 2009 album Time to Die, and performed a version of “Fables” from the record after an ultra-sarcastic introduction from Letterman.

“Fables” in the kind of genial pop song that Meric Long and his band does so well, with minimal guitar and vibraphone laid over a disjointed beat, which allows the song to gradually building to a raucous finale. And if you look really closely, you’ll see that the drummer is playing a tambourine with his foot.
