The Decemberists: "I 4 U & U 4 Me"
Next week, The Decemberists issue a new EP titled Long Live the King, a collection of material that was left off their Jan. 2011 LP, The King Is Dead. You don't have to wait that long to hear a rollicking new cut from the EP though: Stereogum is streaming a nice little ditty called "I 4 U & U 4 Me." The title might bring back memories of Brokencyde or early 2000s Death Cab, but it's actually one of the nicest Decemberists songs in some time: It removes a lot of the pretense in favor of a simple message of being 4 me. Long Live The King is due out on Nov. 1.
