The Decemberists: Days of Elaine (Live on Conan O’Brien) (Video)

The Decemberists brought “Days of Elaine,” the latest single from their Always the Bridesmaid single series, to Conan O’Brien’s show on Monday in a pretty timely form of promotion—the single came out the day after their performance on the show. The track is vintage Decemberists—building choruses, reedy vocals, and a story arc that is probably based on some book one of The Decemberists read. Frontman Colin Meloy dons an Obama button during the performance, and gives him a shout out during one of the verses. Thanks Colin, you helped put him over. [via Stereogum]
