Jack White and Alison Mosshart brought The Dead Weather to New York City this week, where they played a huge outdoor show in Prospect Park, a smaller one at the currently-being-renovated Don Hill’s, and David Letterman’s show last night (Aug. 4). “Blue Blood Blues” is taken from the band’s current album, Sea of Cowards.
Mosshart is currently sporting such a thick head of gothed-out hair that you can barely see her face at all in this clip, but it matters little as “Blue Blood Blues” is one of White’s vocal turns for the group. The band plows through a powerful array of stodgy riffs as the song progresses, with White clearly unable to take the backseat role that his work in The Dead Weather initially suggested.
