Johnny Marr continues his post-Smiths career as a guitarist for hire on this live clip of The Cribs from Jools Holland’s show. Marr has played with the band for a while now, and claims to be a full-time member, although those Smiths-to-reform stories are never going to go away.
“We Were Aborted” is a spiky, guitar-driven song that opens the Cribs’ recent Ignore the Ignorant album, which has been a top 10 hit in the band’s native UK. Marr is in good company—the Cribs have previously collaborated with Edwyn Collins, Lee Ranaldo, and Alex Kapranos from Franz Ferdinand.
