The Cribs

"Cheat on Me" ft. Johnny Marr (Video)

The Cribs recently added Johnny Marr to their band, because apparently the legendary Smiths guitarist decided he wasn't doing enough simple, Strokes-lite Brit-rock. The guy made The Queen is Dead, so I guess we are required to cut him some slack, but "Cheat on Me," the first single from the upcoming Marr-helmed Cribs album, Ignore the Ignorant, is hard to love. The video isn't that great either; it's a quick performance clip that looks like it was shot for about $17.

Ignore the Ignorant is due out on Sept. 7 via Wichita/Warner Brothers. [Stereogum]

take it this is an american doing the review?? sorry to say but as much as i love johnny marr he adds nothing if not ruins the cribs sound! their last three albums were amazin and are one of the best bands to see live! as for the strokes referance, the most over-rated band i think their is had one good album then their last two wer sh**e, hopefully julian casablancas solo stuff is better than the bulls**t he put out with the strokes!!
