The Cool Kids have a new mixtape titled Gone Fishin' out today (it's not out yet, but you can go here to grab it when it's available), and "Popcorn" is shaping up to be the single of sorts since it's been bouncing round the net like a superball. Gone Fishin' is produced by Don Cannon and his blaring, heavy synths augment the Cool Kids' typically dry and spacious drum beats. The track is called "Popcorn" because The Cool Kids are as hot as popcorn, so you know, like every track by the Chicago duo, this is primarily concerned with how awesome they are (really awesome, mostly).
Gone Fishin' is supposedly the preview to the group's upcoming full-length debut, When Fish Ride Bicycles, which is allegedly due out sometime in 2009. [Pitchfork]

Chuck Inglish actually handled most of the production on this one. Don Cannon co-produced some of the tracks, but he only has one solo to his name.
