"Jump Rope," a spot from the Cool Kids' Gone Fishin' Mixtape, finds The Cool Kids rapping over the type of minimal beat that's served them well, like the beat on their first advance track "Black Mags," with a chorus provided by R&B singer Tennille (no association with the Captain). They're still rapping about urban adolescence, for the most part (jumping rope, KP & Envyi), but if peddling nostalgia is "hipster rap," then it's only a matter of time before we get the Power Rangers Mixtape.
