This song sounds like it was played by a band that looks like the Cave Singers: bearded, flannel-wearing Seattlites whose sound harks back way past Nirvana and Starbucks to the lumberjacks of the Cascades. The folky band goes for a sort of plugged-in bluegrass on this jaunty tune, with a guitar riff that's enough to make 1970s roots rock bands jealous.
"At the Cut" is from the Cave Singers' second album, Welcome Joy, out August 18 on Matador [Matablog]
