The Books: "A Cold Freezin' Night"
The Books have a big year ahead: They have a new album, The Way Out, coming out on July 20 (their first in five years), and are setting out on a huge tour in the fall. It's a great time to be literary, right? Take a listen to "A Cold Freezin' Night" off the new album--it's a kind of alternate club music, for parties held in reading spaces and bookstores (jeez, no duh). There's that familiar organic percussion sound that makes its ways into lots of Books songs--like a wood block being smacked--and a girlish voice singing about how she's going to kill you and everything. How pleasant. It joins "Beautiful People" as tracks we've heard from The Way Out, which is sure to be one of 2010's best.
