The Black Lips: "The Drop I Hold" ft. GZA (MP3)
When Black Lips performed with GZA at SXSW, the results were messy, but it was still rumored that GZA would be dropping some verses on Black Lips' faux-rap "The Drop I Hold" from their fifth studio album, 200 Million Thousand. It turns out that was more than a rumor; the liquid swordsman hopped on a new version of the track that will appear on an iTunes EP. GZA's verses don't really mean much to the song overall, except that they replace the slapdash beatboxing that Cole Alexander drops on the original. Which is probably a good thing in the long run.
"The Drop I Hold" EP is due out on May 5.
