The Black Keys continued a charm offensive that began at the weekend on SNL with an appearance on David Letterman’s show last night (Jan. 10). The group is riding high on its Grammy buzz—they got nominated for six awards at the ceremony next month—and simply repeated a track from that SNL performance by giving “Howlin’ For You” from Brothers another airing. It’s simple, perfunctory blues-rock, played well and essentially sounding like the White Stripes with all the rough edges shaved off.
