The Airborne Toxic Event may not have found favor at Pitchfork with their eponymously titled album, but the ensuing feud between band and website certainly generated some much needed publicity. They appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno last night (April 14) to drum up more support for their efforts, and the band will also perform at Coachella this Friday (April 17).
The besuited band members are supplemented by a string section as they work their way through this delicate performance of “Sometime Around Midnight." Those suits are going to get awfully dusty in the Californian desert this weekend, and maybe the good vibes of the festival will be enough for them to bury the hatchet with Pitchfork scribe Ian Cohen.
Airborne is Terrific!!! I have no problem with Pitchfork or anyone else saying their opinion... But how classless and cowardly is Pitchfork to not allow any comments to their reviews.. Strikes me odd. Airborne survived their scathing review and will continue to grow and entertain all of us for many, many years to come.. Gee, that's because they are really talented!!
I dunno. They sound to me like some awful alt-rock band like EVE 6 or something got slightly better lyrics and listened to a bunch of Arcade Fire.
It's seriously boring. But, then again, SO IS PITCHFORK, so who knows?
Co-signed on these fools sounding boring.
