The Airborne Toxic Event’s debut album got a reissue on Island Records earlier this year, prompting a flurry of promotional activity from the band. This performance is taken from Jimmy Kimmel Live, where they played “Sometime Around Midnight,” which they also brought to Jay Leno's studio just a few weeks ago.
Their earnest rock sound is supplemented by a string section here, which still isn’t quite enough to make “Sometime Around Midnight” anything but forgettable. The track builds slowly but doesn’t really go anywhere interesting, ultimately sounding like a sub par take on the Arcade Fire.

Wow.... Airborne has got to be one of the most enjoyable bands out in years.... What a shame that you don't get it.
