Teenage Fanclub don’t make it to these shores very often, so the current tour they are undertaking is a rare jaunt to be cherished. The band has a new album out titled Shadows, which they have been promoting with a series of shows in New York City this week, and from which “Baby Lee” is taken.
This is the kind of mid-paced melancholy track that Norman Blake and his band does so well, with a little Byrds and Big Star—basically the two groups Teenage Fanclub is eternally compared with—coming to mind. Catch them now while they’re here, as a speedy return is unlikely.
