With all due respect to Ted Leo and the Bruce Springsteen, I am not that hot on New Jersey right now after spending about 4 hours of my in massive snow-induced delays on the NJ Transit on my daily commute to work. Nonetheless, the Boss is certainly in just about every discussion of rock these days, what with his new album, being the biggest Oscar snub this side of Clint Eastwood, and some concert in Tampa he's giving on Sunday. Seriously, Bruce Springsteen is like the Animal Collective of people over 30.
Ted Leo, the 38-year old pride of Bloomfield, New Jersey, is not immune to Boss worship, and has been performing songs by Springsteen on his recent tours. He stopped by Pitchfork.tv recently for an interview on Bruuuuce, while recording a couple of covers in a Brooklyn studio. And as down as I am on the Garden State right now, Leo does have sa point about the self-righteous recent Brooklyn transplant. But that still doesn't excuse the Jersey license plate.
