Ted Leo corralled his Pharmacists for a rare television performance last night (March 8). The band appeared on Jimmy Fallon’s show to promote new album The Brutalist Bricks, which is its first for Matador. Clearly, signing up with Gerard Cosloy is already paying dividends for the singer.
Longstanding Leo fans may find it odd to see him in such circumstances, but the upbeat punk-pop of “The Mighty Sparrow” demonstrates why there’s no reason he shouldn’t find a larger audience with this record. Up next: Ted Leo is caught in a candid backstage photo scandal with Lady Gaga.
Matador should be good for this band, no?
