As this decade's master of sincerely emotional punk (read: not emo), it's only natural that Ted Leo would mature in his longing for punk heroes of lore.
Today Ted Leo and the Pharmacists announced details of their new album The Brutalist Bricks, the band's first album since 2007's Living With The Living and their first for Matador Records, which will be released on March 9, 2010. Matador has also released a track from that album "Even Heroes Have To Die," featuring more acoustic guitar work from Leo, and as he matures, the Pharmacists start sounding more and more like the Replacements each record, with no less vitality. Always excited about a new Ted Leo album, and I'm really digging this song.
Can't wait. I love me some Ted Leo. Is that a pause-worthy statement? Whatever.
Not feeling this track at all. Does anyone else feel he peaked with Shake The Sheets? The last one had its moments but was overlong. On the other hand, I give that album art a 9!
