California duo Tashaki Miyaki who happened to be named after a mispronunciation of Japanese director Takashi Miike has been slowly riding a wave of buzz. Helping that buzz are the numerous amounts of covers the bands have been releasing. From Roxette, Father John and Waylon Jennings, the duo have been able to give each one a little of Tashaki Miyaki Flavor.
Last night the duo posted a cover of INXS' classic song "Never Tear Us Apart." Their lo-fi shoegazey-ness matches up perfectly with the original's brooding call. Lucy's voice is sultry and calming making the song peaceful and sexy at the same time.
